OEM Flipper switches to IPAC

Can someone explain these to me
Due to the proximity of the plunger I cant use a standard Happ button with Microswitch, so ive got to use the original switches that the original flipper buttons pushed, but how do you wire them to the IPAC?

Is one tab +  and the other -   ? Why the resistor if thats what it is?

That's a spark suppression capacitor...those switches are for high current applications. You can and should remove that capacitor...solder your wires to the bottom tabs. Since that is a high current switch, it has tungsten contacts, not recommended for low current, but it will work. On the other hand, low current gold plated contacts must NEVER be used in high current applications...this causes excessive sparking and a fire hazard.

So negative to one tab and positive to the other?  Just like a microswitch?

Yes. Use the bottom tabs, remove the capacitor from the side tabs...don't worry about those...they are in parallel with the bottom tabs.

I'd show you some gold plated switches with holes in them, but I threw them out. They sparked and smoked with each closure.
