Ivan Stewart's Off Road repair.

So I am going to pick up an Ivan Stewart machine today and the seller says that it will play for a random amount of time then the screen goes blank, (game plays blind). Any suggestions on where to start looking for problems?  I will have more details when i get it home and see for myself just what is happening but i thought i would get a head start on picking your brains.

Cold solder joints. As the monitor parts heat up a crucial connection somewhere ends up no longer making a connection.
NO MORE!!

Had to put off this project already. My closing date came sooner than expected so I'll have to get back to it in a few weeks. The up side is it will be in my very own work shop, can't wait.
