Golden tee control panels for mame
« on: October 05, 2010, 08:25:32 am »
I think this winter i will finaly build my mame cab, i've had most of the bits since xmas 2009, but been waiting on a computer with a PCIe slot to use the arcade vga card i got, so i just sort of forgot about building the cab till that happened, and hopefully i'm getting the pooter in the next month.

i played with an online cp builder and got a layout i think i can live with, but i was wondering what is the best controll panel design software available now?

and can people show me their golden tee based mame cabs so i can see what's possible,

mine is the zeon cab, upright monitor leaning back very slightly, coin doors in a thin box giving room for pedals each side, double height marquee space, with the DMD above the graphic (which i know wont work with anything but golden tee, but i will track down a betabright or similar one day to display the games name up there)

my cp size is 65cm wide (25.5 inches) X 43cm deep (17 inches) i dont really want to make it any bigger, but i want to fit on 2 joys, 6 buttons per joy, the golden tee trackball, a spinner, and a few extra buttons for player, coin, exit etc,

i'm going to be awkward and put the joys to the right of the buttons, as both me and my GF prefer it that way, stuff what friends may think, it's our machine in the first instance... if they dont like it, build their own  :lol
