| Lightgun vs. Trackball |

I'm planning on putting a lightgun or a trackball into my cab, but am having trouble deciding what one to put in. I'll probably end up getting both of them in eventually, but right now I really only have the cash for one. So what would you guys recommend? |

Trackball, get your control panel done. The guns can be added with less modification. |

Golden Tee, Marble Madness, Centipede, Missile Command, Shuuz etc are great games. There are great gun games too but guns are something that can be added when you have the cash at a later time. Sure you can leave a space for a trackball and add it later but I think trackball games are too much fun to leave it off initially. If you listed the trackball games and light gun games by the ones that are most important to you, which list is longer or most important? |

I agree. a trackball will be much easier to add now. if you want to add one later, you would have to take your panel competely apart to mount it. a gun can be added much easier later. i enjoy gun games alot, but i have yet to add a gun to my mame setup. ( i do however have a playstation 2 in the cabinet for gun games)...but i cannot imagine not being able to play centipede and millipede on my cabinet. |

Build your control panel with a trackball so it is well integrated and not added on later. Light guns are an easy add on when you decide to get one. Most require no control panel changes. |
