u360s and restrictor plates

My wife got a job offer (YES!) and overtime just got approved where I work (YES!).

So tongiht I am ordering everything.  My only question though is in regards to the u360s.  What is there movement like without a restrictor plate?  Circular, rectangular, etc?

I wasn't going to use a restrictor plate but thinking about it, I might get the 4-way/8-way plate and use the 8 way setting.  Or decide later that I want it.

Pros/cons of no restrictor versus restrcitor?

Ginsu Victim:

Circular without anything.

I use the circular restrictor. The throw is a bit too much without it. I also recommend the stiffer springs.

ragnar:

Yes, the stiffer springs are being put on.  Just seems to be the way to go from what everyone says.

Since the default is circular, I will be getting the 4/8 way plate to use in 8 way mode.

Much appreciated!

Ginsu Victim:

Well, the default may be circular, but it's a very long throw. I tried the square plates and didn't like them. The nice thing about the U360 is not having to rotate a plate to 4 or 8 way.

I suppose that if the 8 way setting bothers me that I could always consider the circular attachemnt.  I think the 4/8 way palte and the circular are sold as one item.

Are the 8 way plates to restrictive?  Or just to restricive in analog mode?
