Looking for a Gilligan's Island owner
« on: July 08, 2010, 01:35:04 pm »
Anybody have a Gilligan's Island pin that wouldn't mind helping me out a bit?

I'm working on rebuilding GI for Visual Pinball, and I need some specific details about how the rotating island operates.  What would be really helpful is a video of the motor test running, with the island and DMD in view.  I could use some other information too, but I won't get into that unless someone jumps in to help.

If you're curious, the build for VP currently looks like this: http://soldmy.org/pin/gi/vp/wip_15.png

Thanks,
E

Sweet!  I could use a picture of the bottom side of the island so I could see the tabs that activate the opto that lets the system know the islands position, which you could get even if it's not functional.  The whole island comes out with one set screw on the bottom, so it's not too hard to pull the thing loose (just have to swing the gilligan/flasher out of the way from above it).

Thanks!

i got a video of the operation, i just have to get it off my phone, for some reason there is a cap on the maximum size of an attachment. i may have to extract it out to my computer and then youtube it.

the picture i can do..... gimme a minute

the bottom photo is an exact flip of the unit horizontally so the top remains at the top of the photo.

by default i believe the 3rd ramp from the left side (in this photo) is the "home" position.

Fantastic! Thanks a heap for this.  Those gaps in the near center are exactly what I needed to see.

Good luck with the video transfer.  Anxious to see that too.
