testing out the censor

---fudgesicle--- an O. Its easier.
I think the logic behind the censor is that no one inadvertantly gets swore at. If you turn it off the onus is on you.

Because it is my forum and this is the decorum I prefer. Some people are offended by foul language. Were this a forum about drugs and rock and roll I wouldn't bother to have a censor turned on. It's my intent that this be a family friendly forum however. Different visitors have different thresholds for foul language. I don't understand why this boggles you so. It is for people like you that the option to turn the censor off is for.
Also, this is not a public forum. This is a private forum that I make publicly available. There is no guarantee of freedom of speech given or implied.
That being said, anyone who has been around knows I prefer not to and as a rule don't censor anyone's ideas, thoughts, or opinions.

They do? Seems to me, that except on specific cabel channels, they get bleeped all the *bleeping* time.
PS: I don't think the ability to turn the filter off at a personal level was there when I joined this site years ago. That's why I was surprised.

It just does. It simply makes no sense to me that freedom of speech is so important, but that that only counts for certain words.
I'm not complaining about your decision to put a censor on, but the idea that a censor is needed just strikes me as ridiculous. As if reading the word ---fudgesicle--- is going to make people blind or something.
Anyway, this is going too much into politics.
