methodical:
I got my code quickly, and any minor problems I've had have been fixed here. Delusional and the other more experienced users have been a great help.

He took the money knowing darn good and well he would give no support. I hate to be so negative but hey he's a dirtbag for doing that. I hope they pirate the heck of it. I hope he's reading these messages. Things have a way of working themselves out for crooks like him.

I personally think you and some others are getting a little too worked up over a $25 dollar purchase (filling your car up with gas costs twice this amount).

So what's your beef? If you're having issues post them in the forum and we'll help you. Perhaps if we're lucky someone will assume control of the project and deliver some enhancements and new features, but to my knowledge the core functionality of this FE works fine (at least it does for me).

In my case I registered it and a couple of days later I had problems. Left posts and never heard a word. I have since moved on to GameEx and all is fine. This was a couple of months ago - I cant even remember what the problem was but others posted the same issue and never heard a word. That's not really important now. What's important now is that this guy continues to accept money and the buyer has no idea that he is on his own. If I would have known this before I bought it I would not have bought it. I really don't care what his issues are. That fact that he continues to accept money tells me he's a dirt bag. Here's another thing. If this problem was known by his minions ahead of time than shame on them for not bringing that to light.

As has been said before there is a 30 day trial for the software.  If there are major issues, most should be shown during that testing phase... that said I understand that not everything can be tested in 30 days.

I don't know who the "minions" comment was directed to, but I do know Delusional, I and several others are helping others with issues they are having.  I hardly find anyone helping another with problems on a message board worth bashing in any way shape or form.  I know Delusional and the various other people on the boards have helped me out a great deal and I am very appreciative of that help.

Also it has been commented in great detail on this board and the old one that the software is not likely to have any future updates and mameseer pretty much abandoned the project.  I don't think anyone could view that as a big secret or anything.

Updates or not, the software works great for me and I enjoy it on my cab and I will continue to help out others having questions on the software to the best of my ability as someone who uses Maximus Arcade.  I for one can definately say I got well more than my $25 worth of my software, but to each their own.

That said, there are plenty of front ends out there.  I'm glad you found one to your liking in the end.

He hasn't "abandoned" the software because he continues to accept money for it. I looked at the forums a few days before I registered my copy - I saw nothing about abandoning his involvement. I find it hard to believe you feel OK with supporting his work while he gets more money and doesn't offer you a second of help.

arzoo:
Not trying to stir the pot here, but the MA license agreement (item #5) clearly states that the software is provided "AS IS and without warranty of any kind". Purchasing the software does not entitle the Licensee to any support. Mameseer may be handling the situation poorly (to put it lightly) but he has done nothing illegal.

Copied from Maximus Aracade license.txt file:

5. Disclaimer of Warranty. Licensee expressly acknowledges and agrees that the use of the Software and its documentation is at Licensee's sole risk. The Software, documentation, and technical support are provided "AS IS" and without warranty of any kind. I'm ok supporting his work because I'm getting value out of it as the FE on my cabinet. Support is available when I need it. I don't recall seeing a Service Level Agreement being attached to the purchase.

Flake:
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............boring.....

Lets just move on shall we.  Its a measly $25 and quite frankly this is a better site for support anyway.  If $25 makes or brakes your budget your in the wrong hobby.

How about everyone take their attention to real problems like getting issues fixed for people.....like me  ;D.  I still have a damn issue with my master game list that cant seem to be fixed and I'm at a loss as to why.  See here http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=104090.0
