$400!

 :o

It was missing a bolt in one of the arms and I had to hit the wood with some touchup markers.  The leather was perfect.

Nice I love finding good things tossed out.

RayB:
WOW, nice. I don't get why something like that gets tossed. Aren't they obligated to return it somewhere to be counted as a loss, or sold off to a surplus vendor?

Anyways, NICE CHAIR!

Xiaou2:
When there are items that arrive damaged or missing parts, or items that dont sell,
they are mostly tossed out and filed as a tax loss.

The items are supposed to be destroyed.  Some stores will cut or smash things before
they toss them out, as they are not supposed to be able to be recovered.

Dumpster diving is Illegal, and I believe you can end up it jail if you are caught.

Its hard to believe the kinds of things that are tossed out in the trash.
Ive seen excellent industrial metal display shelving units tossed.  The stuff Should be
resold, recycled, etc.  Its a real shame to see such a throw-away society.

A quick search proves this statement false.   Trespassing on someones property to dumpster dive is illegal but the act of dumpster diving itself rarely is.
