Damn good idea (",)
Those Swedes sure are inventive. First the erm... Well, and then the.. Ummm.

Well they did invent the 3 point safety belts for cars....and I'm pretty sure Volvo was the first/invented a lot of other safety features for cars.
The whole idea is to tow away an average European car. You can see it picks up a Volvo Estate, that's a pretty big car for Europe standards. I'm sure it can't do MPV's or trucks but that's not the goal. There are much more "normal" vehicles here.
Also it's smart to be able to go through the traffic jams, where regular tow-trucks will have a lot of problems to reach the destination.

its a goldwing lol.
not really a well known bike for raw torque there almost like a spree motor on roids so what would be even more interesting for me is how long the teeth on the sprockets will last and how many miles later until that tiny junk crank snaps and its time to call a real tow truck for the car & bike :dizzy:
I also would not mind seeing a video on the first rain after a few day's of hot weather and see how them skinny street tire's handle with that hardcore suspension setup them goldwings have while towing a car :badmood:
at least he's wearing a helmet though :applaud:

You thinking of the right bike? Gold Wing is no scooter motor. Its a 6 cylinder.
Also shaft drive, so no chain and sprockets.

Looks like a very cold ride!
Although a decent idea, I too wonder about the suspension of the tow apparatus after being out in the elements for a while. Rain-Snow-salt will affect the 'bending' places alot and cause rust. Welds would constantly have to be inspected for cracking due to the cold weather as well. Even if it is aluminum, those type of welds break even easier with cold weather.
I also worry about a sudden stop vs. a controlled stop. Jack-knifing would be an issue with a sudden stop.
Eventually, the strain on the drivetrain of the bike would have to be replaced because of the stress on it.
Im sure all the worries we have have been tested time and time again,
But, I could be wrong! :dunno

Bunch of pro-active positive thinkers here :lol. I supposition that the bike will be used to simply get to the scene and take the car to a more accessible spot further up the road or move the vehicle off to the side so traffic can once again move. Yes they show the bike out-and-about, but that could very well be 'marketing'.
