If you go fabric, you have to go all the way. Make your cabinet huggable. |

The PE vinyl used to be fantastic. It was stiff (would hide surface imperfections), heavy duty, had a surface that was almost impossible to dig into and the adhesive was crazy, even on bare MDF. You had one chance to put it down right. However, a few years back, they suddenly started shipping a different product. It was softer, you can see imperfections through it, and the adhesive, while not terrible, is nothing to write home about. It wouldn't be my first choice for a quality job, but it's definitely better than contact paper. I really wish the original product was still available. :( |

Hmm, I'm trying not to laminate and I don't want to paint. Any other suggestions? Anyone use this stuff recently? |

For those wanting vinyl over 24 inches wide, I would suggest looking at This Old Game. http://www.thisoldgame.com/categories/vinyl Their vinyl looks great and sticks well but there is a catch....it shows surface imperfections. With this in mind, surface preparation is critical....if you invest the time, this stuff will look great. While we are on the subject, if anyone can recommend a nice rigid vinyl to hide minor surface imperfections I would appreciate it. It doesn't need to be very wide. |
