powering an upright cabinet

PixelPaul:
I'm planning to build my own cabinet with a 60 in 1 Jamma board. Would this then have just an on-off switch or a plug to pull when you want to power down? I would think a MAME machine using a PC, you would want to shut down via the Windows menu, but what about a cabinet that isn't using MAME?
Smeghead:
Google "Smart Strip" or "SmartStrip"

They rock    :applaud:
RayB:
You'd be building a jamma cabinet. So go here and read up all his articles on AC wiring, "so you want to build your own game", wiring for JAMMA, etc.

A smart strip isn't useful in this set up.
TheGameFan:
Usually a power switch on top or in back.

I put a regular wall switch in a handy box inside the panel.  Want to turn it on or off, just lean the panel up and there you go, the switch comes from the wall and goes to a 6 outlet strip.  There I power my coindoorm Marquee Lamp, TV, and PC.
