Decassing an LCD tv?

Mount it behing glass with acrylic/black cardboard/paint masking the bezel.

Well you can see for my purpose I had no choice for my visual pinball cabinet.  Here is what my 37" LCD looks like with the case on

First off it wouldn't fit in my Bally cabinet and second of all it wouldn't be centered.  Now if I was building the cab around my LCD that would be a different story and perhaps I would have built my cabinet a bit wider so I can mount the LCD centered with a bit of a border on the sides.  Lots of people have de-case LCDs for their VP projects and I had to decase my HP 15" LCD for my backbox too, nice and easy 5 minute job.

Hopefully I won't have to de-case my Samsung 24" to make it all fit but there are some 1/4" tabs on the HP monitor which I will grind off so it can sit more flush or closer to the Samsung.

the remote it comes with?

I think he meats for it to power on automatically.. he mentions it in his first post  :)

Blanka:

If it is a monitor it powers on automatically, with a TV it mostly won't. But, <30 inch TV's are mostly pimped monitors (with their crappy TN screens) with some tuner attachment, and from a complete different production line as real TV's (>30 inch with IPS/PVA panels). Maybe it powers on when reconnecting like monitors do.
