if we leave there would be no gas to explore with after they light all the fields on fire like they were ordered to do.

so in the meantime we have to baby sit and protect the world's main supply.

Of course, we can't actually send -people- anywhere other than the moon with current technology (well, not easily, and if you actually want them back).


(Don't get me wrong...I'd sign up for the mission)

Pretty soon, NASA will not even have transportation, and they'll use the former USSR's rockets (which are more cost efficient and reliable anyway). That has to hurt I'm sure....
