I'm on a 2-stick kick now, so let's dig up Tutankham!

ROMSet: tutankhm

DIP Switch Settings:

Lives: 3

Bonus Life: 30,000

Difficulty: Easy

Flash Bomb: 1 per life

----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------

- One credit only.

- No continues!

- No MAME cheats!

- Last day is Sunday May 2nd (11:59:59pm Pacific Daylight Time), 2010.

- High score wins.

- No savestates, savestate practices, etc. during the round.

- MAME INP recordings are optional, but encouraged!

- A screenshot is required to enter a score (press F12 to save screenshot showing your final score) or take a photo of the screen if playing on a real machine.

- If you're a MARP competitor on this title, keep in mind this is just a friendly competition amongst forum members, so maybe you shouldn't enter. However, if you're a forum member and this is a game you're good at and nobody knows about it, this is your time to shine!

Good luck!

-Jason

PS--I won't post a screen grab, but my 1st handful of games netted me 41,220.  Don't forget to use your Flash Bombs!!!

I played this on the Atari 2600 back in the day; it was a lot of fun.  It would be interesting to see if that carries over to the arcade version 25 years later...  :)

Cool game, I'll have to give it a go!

The nice thing is that you can use two sticks with this game or you can use one stick to move and two buttons to shoot with, since you really only shoot left and right.

Now that raises the question, is that cheating if you use buttons to shoot with rather than the joystick?

I am not the rule maker but I would not think it's cheating.  I assume people are playing with just a keyboard for some of these challenges.

I can't see me getting past that 3rd level...the game difficulty just ramps up too fast...and we're using "easy" mode!   :o

Nope, he's got a bad case of the Pac-Mans...can't stop unless he hits a wall.  Can't fire up & down either.  What a dufus...

Tips for Tutankham:

1. Be patient
2. Be patient
3. Don't tango with a bat
4. Collect all the treasures
5. Be patient

I'm pretty sure I could get to level 5 with the incentive of a nemesis.  I've only played it a dozen times.

I give up with this game, to me it's unplayable. I don't know what is it, poor collision detection, or the video not being 100% accurate has something to do with it or maybe, (just maybe ;) ) my poor playing, but I'd swear some of the "baddies" just walk into the shot and nothing happens and I cannot shoot 2nd time untill the 1st shot reaches the wall, but by then is too late for another shot. I'm just way too annoyed, it seems as it happend too many times.

Yes on all counts Mimic.  Probably why this game wasn't all that popular.

I managed to break 30,000 but that's it.

So what's the next game?  I usually don't come any where close to the high score, but it's fun to try... :)
