Hoopz:
It'd be nice if TakeTwo or whoever owns 3D Realms now would finish and release this game.

SNAAKE:

Malenko:

I remember reading that the footage from that video is actual gameplay footage leaked from the former 3D Realms, but all of the audio was faked and not from the game.

--- Quote ---Duke Nukem Forever to be released May 3rd, pigs begin to fly

Today appears to be a snowy day in hell. On the same morning that European streaming music service Spotify has finally broken a years-long stalemate with the big music labels and defied everyone’s expectations by signing a real deal with a major music label, Duke Nukem Forever — the most famous piece of vaporware software in history — has finally gotten a release date that isn’t “when it’s done.”

“Somehow the guys at Game Informer magazine discovered Duke Nukem Forever’s launch date before I did,” joked Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software and executive producer of Duke Nukem Forever. “But I cannot imagine any better video game news source team than Game Informer to reveal the moment of truth for the most inconceivable, incorrigible and inspiring turn around story in the history of the video game industry – the coming of Duke Nukem Forever on May 3, 2011.”

That’s only about three months from now, although the rest of the world will have to wait until May 6th.

Needless to say, 2K Games is thrilled, since they’ve been trying to get this game out for over a decade.

“The moment fans all over the world have been waiting for is almost here,” says Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “May 3, 2011 marks Duke’s return as he unleashes his brash and brutally honest wit on the world. His return is going to be epic and one that will make video gaming history!”

There’s a lot of words to describe Duke — a video game character known for using spurting neck as toilets and shaking dollar bills at every stripper who jiggles by — but I’m not sure “wit” is one of them, Christoph.

Either way, mark the date: according to the Mayan prophecies, May 3rd, 2011 is the date of the end times. Duke Nukem Forever is going gold.
