Im a fan of macs, had more than one myself imac g3, powerbook G4. And had many varietys of ipods before.
But this looks like such a waste of money, i understand people with iphones, £35 a month is fairly standard for a smartphone and yes they are good kit but they hold features back then re-release it with them (example, 3g). which c'mon a piece of tech like that without it is fairly useless. If you have WI-FI in your home you aint gonna have it just for your iphone are you? :laugh2: likely to be a laptop about which would be used for surfing and such at home. Btw are some awesome (cheap!!) games on the iphone, probably its best feature.
But the Ipad, its basicly a jumbo iphone, with all the limitations from the iphone. I can't see why anywone would buy the top $829 ipad over a HP Mini 311, i know its not a tablet with no touchscreen. But it has got a keyboard and a track pad, and over 3 times the top ipads storage.
HP Mini 311
Which has everything you need on a fully fledged windows 7 operating system.
But if you do go for the Ipad just remember "you qualify as one of the mindless sheep consumers that the ipad is aimed at"

Use a Mini or any other mac and use it over firewire as target mode DVD drive. Its more to blame MS. DVD-drives are supposed to be dead, Apple should kill DVD support before killing flash support. Al software should be available as download or on a USB stick.

But does it make you happy? Nobody with an iPhone seems Happy with it (only the first week)
The piece of tech that makes me most happy is 2 things:
Our office Saeco full automatic espresso machine,
My 1975 Orange juicer from Philips.
Nothing with bits and bites comes close to that :)
