Yeah, my initial thought was to have 2 walls on the tardis, so when you walked in, you would be in a large room immediately. Then I figured it'd be more practical to cut in a bulkhead rather than cut out the entire corner.
I think it's pretty cool regardless of how it's done, and I was just tinkering. The biggest impact on me from that show was the fact that a small box contained such a large room.

Good point. I see where you are going with that line of logic. In my idea you have to "walk through" the tardis to get to the larger room, with yours, it is instantly a larger room once you open the doors.
The way the tardis I have is put together, both ways are possible. Regardless, it is currently the phone booth/info center "room" in the livingroom. The hinges were initially a part of the design concept so it could be moved easily, but lighting struck when I realized it would allow for more tardis like behaviour... :D
