I'm pretty sure the phone was only accessible on the outside....

I thought the same thing when I read his post, but decided to research it before making the comment and found out the phone was accessible from both inside and outside.

How retarded! No wonder the Uk has been going downhill :duckhunt

It's not retarded, it's incredibly clever. Another popular use of a police box was a "guard shack" of sorts for posted policemen. So the bobbys could potentially have personal effects in them. (Typically some first aid gear, a stool a space heater ect...) Because of the smart design they could lock up the box when they go on patrol and yet still give the public access to the phone.

What's clever about letting a drunk, angry man have access to a phone? Isn't he just going to trash it?

protokatie, you should have posters printed out and cover the interior walls from top to bottom + ceiling such that when viewed from the door, it looks like the big inside room.

That would require some amazing lighting... But a good idea. The printer I have can do edgeless printing and I have printed plenty of posters... Hmmm...
For now it is going to be an indoor phonebooth (There are three of us living here, and not having to hear the loudmouth roomie is a bonus). Other future options for the thing are as an IT rack and of course removing the back panel and setting in front of an entrance to a room so that the thing will literally BE bigger on the inside :D
EDIT: The build itself is now complete. I need to print out some stuff for the outside to "complete the look". Once it is installed I should be able to get some pics. :D
