Die hard Arcade and drilling
(1/1)
dreamakuma:
Hey all

I got a sega titan video die hard arcade cabinet. Need to drill some holes, but the CP isn't Metal or wood it's very thick plastic. It's the original CP. Is it safe to drill in some holes with a hole saw?
Thanks

I'd say hole saw, and some water. Drilling Plasti, in my experience, goes MUCH smoother if you put a fair amount (read: DROWN) of water in the area you're drilling. It'll keep down dust and heat, and help prevent warping.

BUT! Why are you doing this to Die Hard? Isn't that cabinet all plastic molded? It'd be a same to see that cabinet in particular modified.

Dunno. I'd be interested myself, since we are modding the same cab for a 2 player mame and need to insert a trackball. Got a heck of a dela on it (read FREE).

In our case, there was virtually nothing in it... 2 buttons that I don't think came with it, and most of the body in pieces.

Thanks. I found it on craigslist for $50, empty. Wanted to MAME it. I'm only adding 6 buttons(another three per player) I love how it's all plastic and very cozy for my PC and monitor. My old cabaret cab was at an odd angle, so when I saw what looked like cross between a US and Candy style I wanted it.
