I just watched 2012
shardian:
Yeah we watched it Friday night. It had some entertaining SFX here and there, but for the most part was pretty lame-o.
Set your logic bar REALLY low, and you'll at least be able to make it through the movie. I can't stress enough how low that bar will have to be set though.
Ginsu Victim:
Stargate and Independence Day are the only two films from Emerich I've watched. I gave up after that.

We watched it last night. It is entertaining...in a sense that you have to dumb yourself down. But you have to do that for any of the summer special effect blockbusters. I thought the vehicles continuously rolling just far enough ahead of the crumbling ground was particularly bad, even for the effects.
When the plane initially left the runway going through the crumbling highways and stuff was pretty neat looking.
Woody Harrelson was awesome. Easily the bright spot of the movie. Looking forward to Zombieland now.
