LOL -I haven't used that one in a while!

Also, try adjusting the analog sensitivity in Mame to see if you can compensate.

H4CK3R:

I have 2 extra pots, wired them both up, took out all other inputs to the A-pac, and just testing the Y axis.   Doesnt matter what pot I use, I can not get it to " Center" at 0, and have full motion up and down before it hits the limitor.

I thought that when you re calibrate the A-pac  ( listed at a Untramarc game controller) in Win 7, that it would take the readings, and auto center in and give the calibration at a dead center 0.

It does not.

If I adjust the clogs in the oppiste direction, IE -18xx , it still centers the Y axis at 2160 ish, with 2175 being the high end.  I have revered the wires, while keeping the gnd to gnd. and still same results.

There is alot of free play going the opposite direstion,    I can center the Y axis at 2166, and hit a low at 2100, but still have a high of 2176.

So in a nut shell.....

it seems that at -1800 to 2100 its a fast moving Pot, then once it hits 2160 ish It starts to crawl.

Idealy, like the X axis it would center somewhere around 0, and then hit a - 1800 and a high of +1800.

I have already hooked the A-pac Y axis to the X Pot, and its getting the same results as if I just hooked it to the other pots.  And that leaves me to believe that this is a software issue?

I have searched Ultramarcs website and I don't see any software for the A-pac, it works as a plug and play.

EDit.  Going to see if switching it to the player 2 side makes a difference.

H4CK3R:

OK after further testing this si what I came up with.....

BAD A-Pac.....

I tried player two side if the Y axis with two differnt Pots,  Both would only read a + reading...

I then switched the the Y axis Pot to the X axis slot on the A-pac...  Works perfect.   Dead center at 0, -1800, +1800 ish.

Leaves me to believe either its a bad A-pac or Driver...   Deleted the driver and pluged USB into a differnt USB port on PC... loads up, and same results.

=  Bad A-pac.

Will get hold of ultramarc and see if they can fix, or buy a new.... My entire weeked gone...  But on the bright side, at least I believe I have found the problem.

PS.  its only the y- axis doing this... Could i use the Player 1 up and down axis with player 2 up and down axis and have mame see it as both controls?  Just an idea...

Havok:

Sure - you have 4 possible axis' with the A-Pac. Connect the two that work properly, and map them in Mame.

Chunce DeLeone:

anyone know what angle the original yoke is mounted at?
