On #5, I go, you know, how many calories are in these things?

250!  Each!  And they're 4%!

You put on a pound or two that weekend, eh?  96 calories in a Miller Lite...I could drink 36 before gaining a pound. I know of at least 2 occasions I gained a pound...back in the day. Just think how fat I'd be if I drank leaded instead of unleaded.

Typically, a shot = glass of wine = light beer in calories.

A mixed drink typically = a fuller beer (or worse, depending on what you are mixing in).

Those malted beverage sweeter beers like Smirnoff may be worse off, I dont know.  But I know theres not a ton of calorie savings to be had drinking liquor instead, especially if you are mixing it with something besides carbonated water or diet soda.

Just once, try a Pete's Wicked Ale Strawberry Blonde. I bet you'd like it.

Or a Leinenkugal's Sunset Wheat

Beer generally tacks on another 20-40 calories (one can has an ounce of ethanol in it), wine about the same but trends a little worse.

I've done far too much research on the topic.   :P

Well part of the point is that no one drinks an ounce of any liquor, a typical shot is much closer to an ounce and a half (I think officially its 1.4 oz?  I dunno). A friendly or loose bartender will lean more towards a 2oz pour.  And a mixed drink is far worse.

If you take your 80 calories and guess that your shot is just a small one at 1.2 oz, thats 96 calories already, which equals whats reported on the label of a Miller Lite.  Have your vodka in cranberry, tonic water, or 7-up (non-diet) and your Miller Lite is easily less calories per serving.

Beer (in bottles or cans anyway) is at least a much more measured way to observe your caloric intake, if thats what you are concerned with.  Or if you really want to torture yourself, go with the MGD 64, the beer that tastes like what I imagine my own piss tastes like after a night of drinking real beer.

If I miss hard liquor and pop, I get instant heartburn and gas lock that makes me fell like I am dying.

Those Mike's Hard Cola things do the same.
