New york and florida
Nacimroc:
Figured this would be a good place to ask seeing as theres so many yanks on here!
Myself and the other half are getting married in Italy in June and were looking to go for our honeymoon to New York and Florida. We're from Ireland so will probably fly from Italy home to Ireland then to US.
I'm looking for things to do in New York for 3 days/nights before flying to florida. Maybe end up doing the whole disney Epcot thing. We will probably stay in florida for a week. We're looking for things to do there aswell.
I'm open to anything just not too boring!
Thanks

Can I make a suggestion?
How about a nice trip to Florida just the two of you via Amtrak. Get to see the sights, have privacy and enjoy the east coast.

I know it sounds odd, but flying from Italy, the wedding and running around NY for 3 days, the flight to Miami... will get tiring. It takes 28 hours, enough time to relax on your honeymoon. ;D
No I don't work for Amtrak

Throw a stick in New York and you'll find something to do :)
But just keep in mind New York is the "Big City". If you get into that scene, you'll love it. Me, I'm a native Texan and am not at all into big city life. New York was mostly crowded and irritating to me.
Florida's much nicer in my book. Definitely try to get out to the swamps in fl. Maybe do an airboat tour, something like that. Also, if you can make it down to the keys, that's a VERY laid back way to go, though. Might be a little boring unless your into that.
And you +HAVE+ to do NASA Cape Canaveral if you're in FL and can talk the better half into it. Just getting to walk around one of the shuttle crawlers is worth the trip!
Just a few ideas anyways...
Congratulations!

Wife and I took a trip up the East Coast on Amtrak - *hated* it. Train stopped repeatedly in the middle of the night with people getting on and off waking us up (we were in a private sleeper berth). Food in the dining car was less than memorable. The berth we were in was cramped and not conducive to "honeymooning" ... Not the memorable romantic train ride we were anticipating. We were up for an adventure, but it was just annoying. I don't know if Amtrak has different types of trains than what we were on but it wasn't anything I'd do again or recommend...
