My $13 ebay keychain camera.

Ok, first things first:
- I taped my camera to my aerobird challenger park flyer
- I flew my flyer
- er, I mean I flew my flyer in a heavy wind day, when I knew I wasn't supposed to
- The moment it took off, it went way left, I said "ah CRAP" (I guess my worse case scenario was that it would just fall down quickly. Oops!)
- So... I crashed my flyer
- The camera hit first, right against a house and at high speed
- Sad that I couldn't find my camera (probably the most important thing, if I'm going to crash the plane, I want to see evidence of my dumbassness! But lo and behold, Little girl that was visiting decided to give me a hand and found my camera!
- The camera bounced about 15 feet from the wreckage of the plane, which suffered a broken wing, the wheels fell off, the nose is dented, the prop fell off. Aside from that, it's pretty good, the tail and body is sound (important and the motor is still turning!
- Camera is cracked and messed up and pressing the button.. shut off the filming! The CAMERA STILL WORKED! Was still running actually, as evidenced by the 10+ extra minutes of seeing a car door (near where it "landed" eheh)
- Cat is fine, I repeat THE FELINE IS FINE!
Quality of the video is pretty awesome, when taking into account the size, etc; the stills I'm adding do not do this camera justice. I'll post a youtube vid soon (probably sometime next week, have to edit out the long "car view" first and some stills of the crashed plane!
The plane took a big hit, I'll be ordering a new wing but I think everything's ok, she's a tough sucker! :) Learned a lesson today, learned to listen to my "voice of reason" and yeah, learned to do as the manual says: don't fly in heavy wind :). Considering the battle of the elements, I was impressed with this park flyer.
RobbyMac:
Nifty!!!!
We had the derby today, and our results were not so good. Especially compared to last year's 2nd in den and 5th overall.
This year the car tracked to the left and our 4th wheel (lifted so it doesnt touch the track surface which reduces friction) wound up rubbing against the rail slowing us way down. There was no indication of it running crooked during our 'hi tech kitchen floor tests'. Needless to say we were eliminated by our 3rd run (double elimination). I guess we'll take advantage of the practice runs on the track next year to work out any kinks.
The camera gave pretty good results, but the video has been compressed for youtube so it loses a bit of quality. In any event, we're having fun with it.
